About MFF

Manchester Folk Festival aims  to create the spirit of a festival in a field…  Minus the chemical toilets. And the mud.

The festival itself  takes place across several locations in one compact area of Manchester city centre. All of the venues are within a few minutes’ walk of each other, making it easy to move between concerts, catch up with friends, and just hang around taking in the atmosphere.

The centre of the action is around Whitworth Street West, at HOMERitz and Gorilla. All very convenient for Deansgate/Castlefield tram stopDeansgate and Oxford Road train stations, several 24hr car parks, and a good few hotels, so you can make a long weekend of it.

Who are we?

Manchester Folk Festival is produced by the English Folk Expo (EFEx) team. EFEx supports the English folk, roots and acoustic music sector through a variety of projects and initiatives. To learn more about EFEx and our work please visit englishfolkexpo.com
